USI Welcome Center

In 2018, Empire got to play a small part in the awesome growth happening out at the University of Southern Indiana, as General Contractor on the new Fuquay Welcome Center.

With the addition of this 7,560 Square Foot building, the University now has a stand alone building to welcome potential students and their family’s to introduce the University and present to them all of the great things USI has to offer.

Many of the buildings on campus are unique, and this one is no exception. From the overall shape of the building to the green roof that allows students to walk up the custom roof platform between the landscape of flowers and shrubs that cover the roof. On the outside walls, porcelain panels called Laminam are featured on all sides, making this building one of the first in the Tri-state area to feature this product on a building envelope.

A big thank you to the Fuquay Family for their contribution to make this project happen, to USI and their great staff for working with us, the subcontractors on the project, and to Empire’s own Jerry Boes for running this project.
